yeah, the title says it all, I'm no longer a teen. My facebook status currently reads:

Happy Birthday to me
I'm no longer a teen
If that rhyme is ba-ad
The next one is to

And thus ends my adaptation of the hit song "Happy Birthday" with my ingenius poetics. Which brings me to my next point. What's the difference between ingenius and genius? I'm assuming it's not the same as is between incapable and capable, cos one of these I'm not. Language is strange. Which brings me to my next point.

I'm in the process of transferring to a double degree with Creative Arts/ Arts in order to qualify as an English teacher (instead of just being able to use the phrase "why yes, I have completed an undergraduate course in Creative Writing") and so have been thinking about the subject 'English'. And then I thought about France (I'm also planning on a minor in French but this is mostly irrelevant [not to be confused with relevant]).

In Australia, the study of English is the study of writing, literature, Chaucer, and the rest of it. In France, do they have a class called 'French' which explores the same things what we do in English? Do Germans whinge "I have German 4th period"? I asked my girlfriend this and she told me 2 things:

that in Japan, kids learn Japanese in school because their language is so much more complex (3 alphabets?!?)

and that I'm silly and should stop confusing people

AM I SILLY?
